What is the difference between a Tower and Desktop Case?

Well the obvious difference is the Tower case sets vertical and the desktop case sets horizontal.  Which is better depends on your preference.  Neither is better than the other physically.  Some people like to have the tower case so that they can set it under their desks or in a small cabinet.  Other people like the desktops because it takes up less room, they will just set their monitor on top of it.
